LA Landscape: I created this small, very abstracted gestural landscape painting during the year my studio was on the Westside of Los Angeles. It captures the land and urban energy of Los Angeles. I applied lime green watercolor with a paintbrush. The black and white paint, I applied directly from the tubes, so there is texture and spots of three-dimensionality from the more dense paint in those colors. The gray background is the natural color of the archival sanded paper, which is quite stiff like cardstock.
